The City of Arcadia is undertaking a roadway and utility improvement project for two streets within the City. The project limits are 10th Avenue (from East Oak Street to East Maple Street) and Cypress Street (from Hillsborough Avenue to Mills Avenue). Work on the project will begin on March 25th 2019 and continue through approximately December 2019.
The City has obtained grant funding from FDOT for the two road improvement projects through the Small County Outreach Program (SCOP). In adsition to the SCOP funded roadway improvements, and as [art of the same contract, the City of Arcadia is also completing some underground utility improvements. The work includes:
- Roadway Mill and Resufacing
- Drainage pipe removal and replacement
- Driveway and sidewalk construction
- Utility installation – water and sewer
The roads will be closed, except for local traffic, while the construction proceeds. Alternate access will be provided for anyone whose driveway connects to either street. The water services to homes will be shut off wjile new connections are installed. The contractor will notify each resident prior to shutting off water services.
