Notice of Public Meeting – June 15, 2021 – City of Arcadia Potable Water System Improvements Facilities Planning Document

The City of Arcadia Florida is required to prepare and approve a Potable Water Facilities Plan in accordance with Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) in order to obtain SRF grant and loan funding for improvements to the Water System.

Hazen and Sawyer has prepared the Potable Water Facilities Plan which includes recommendations for water supply, water treatment and distribution system improvements. A meeting will be held as part of the June 15, 2021 City Council meeting at 6:00 p.m. to provide a summary of the proposed meeting, associated financial impacts and provide the opportunity for individuals to be heard on any perceived impacts of the location, design, and environmental concerns associated with the proposed improvements.

Funding for these improvements is anticipated to come from the State Revolving Fund Loan Program administered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Financial aspects of the plan implementation will be addressed if there are any concerns.

All interested persons are invited to attend.

The public is welcome to review and comment on the plan. The plan will be considered at the Arcadia City Council Meeting at 6 pm on June 15, 2011. The plan will be one item for consideration as part of the Council agenda that day. Minutes for the Council meeting will serve as a written public record of this meeting. Citizens are encouraged to participate by submitting comments on the plan.

This plan outlines replacement of water lines which will be done in conjunction with the sanitary sewer improvements, additional water supply wells and improvements to the water treatment plant that the City plans to move forward with for the benefit and welfare of the citizens of the City of Arcadia. Once approved on the local level, the plan will be submitted to FDEP.
