Planning & Zoning

The City’s Planning & Zoning Department works to deliver quality service to residents, businesses and the development community. The Planning & Zoning Department is primarily tasked with both short- and long-range planning activities, development review of all new projects, and zoning regulation. The Department works with engineers, surveyors, planners and other City departments and staff to ensure land is developed in accordance with the City’s Unified Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan. The Planning & Zoning Department processes all development applications for review by the Development Review Committee, Planning & Zoning Board, Board of Adjustment and City Council. The Planning & Zoning Department also collects and processes Business Tax Receipt applications and ensures all businesses have been reviewed for zoning compliance.
