A.J. Berndt

A.J. Berndt has been with the City of Arcadia since 2009. He is responsible for the City Water Plant, Waste Water Plant, System’s Department, City and State Highway Lighting, and Traffic Lights. A.J. started working at the water plant on a part time basis. Within 3 years he was promoted to WTP Supervisor and attained a Class “C” Water License. In 2014 A.J. was promoted to Utility Director. Since then he has overseen the construction of a $7 million ION Exchange Water Plant, rehabilitation of the Waste Water Plant, new water and waste water line installations, water loss detection, and currently overseeing a $20 million Waste Water Project, Reuse Pond Construction at the Golf Course, Utility Revitalization in numerous neighborhoods, and the construction of a new water well for the Water Plant. A.J. is an active member of F.R.W.A and A.W.W.A and attends training and educational events on a regular basis.
